Baseball Game Preview: Etowah Blue Devils vs. North Broward Prep Eagles

The Etowah Blue Devils will square off against the North Broward Prep Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Etowah fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Collinsville on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Broward Prep). They never let Benjamin get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won four contests in a row.

Noa Das looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched.

At the plate, North Broward Prep let Julian Rodriguez and Anthony Diaz run wild. Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI, while Diaz went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave Rodriguez a new career-high. Adrian Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

North Broward Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benjamin only posted a batting average of .214.

North Broward Prep's record is now 4-1. As for Etowah, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
