Baseball Game Preview: Olympic Heights Lions vs. Deerfield Beach Bucks

Olympic Heights hasn't had much luck against Deerfield Beach recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bucks at 6:00 p.m. Deerfield Beach took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Olympic Heights, who comes in off a win.

Last Wednesday, Olympic Heights narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Seminole Ridge 5-4.

Olympic Heights got a great performance from Ryan Kessner as he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Camilo Castellon, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. Another player making a difference was David Otero, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Deerfield Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Westminster Academy.

Olympic Heights' win bumped their record up to 2-14. As for Deerfield Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
