Football Recap: Iola Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Iola and Shiner squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Iola had to settle for second. They came up short against the Comanches, falling 34-14. It was the first time this season that the Bulldogs let down their fans at home.

Iola's loss came despite strong showings from Tyler Elliott and Austin Calvillo. Elliott rushed for 31 yards and one touchdown, while Calvillo rushed for 42 yards.

Among those leading the charge was Clayton Fric, who rushed for 76 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Quincy Jones, who rushed for 71 yards and one score.

Iola suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 7-4. As for Shiner, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Iola does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shiner, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 22-6 win against Junction on the 5th.
