Softball Recap: Rodriguez Finds Home Field Redemption Against River City

There's no place like home for Rodriguez, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the River City Raiders 11-0 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Amelia Morrison made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Angelique Boot was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ellie Steiger, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Rodriguez was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Rodriguez's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-5. As for River City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
