Volleyball Recap: Mynderse Academy Comes Up Short

Mynderse Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Kearney Kings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Kings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Mynderse Academy sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-20, 20-25, 25-20, 20-25, 15-11.

Among those leading the charge was Eliza Alderman, who had nine kills, three aces, and two blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Hanna Rimkus was another key player, getting five kills, three blocks, and two aces.

Mynderse Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Bishop Kearney, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Mynderse Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Kearney, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Gananda Central on the 24th.
