Recap: Plano East Panthers vs. Prosper Eagles
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Plano East Panthers can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Prosper on Friday, falling 41-3. Plano East was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
Jackson Hays threw for 26 yards on four of eight attempts. Jaylon Hatcher was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards. On the ground, Desmond Smith rushed for 72 yards.
Leading Prosper to victory were Bryce Robinson and Nathan Tenbarge. Robinson rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown, while Tenbarge rushed for 15 yards and a touchdown.
Plano East has yet to win a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 6-5 record. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.0 points per game. As for Prosper, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Plano East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Prosper will take on Lake Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Highlands will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
