With a playoff win on the line, Garfield rose to the challenge on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the San Fernando Tigers 3-2. Three seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The win made it two in a row for Garfield and bumps their season record up to 17-12. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for San Fernando, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-14.

Coming up, Garfield will square off against Banning at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 4, the Pilots 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. San Fernando does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
