Basketball Recap: Airport Eagles vs. South Aiken Thoroughbreds
Airport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost to the South Aiken Thoroughbreds at home by a 61-44 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-52 back in December of 2024.
Kelton Walker had an outrageously good game for South Aiken as he dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Keon Raysor was another key player, putting up eight points.
Airport's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for South Aiken, they moved to 6-13 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.
Airport will be playing at home against Midland Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Airport is facing Midland Valley at the right time seeing as Midland Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for South Aiken, they and Aiken will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. South Aiken is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season.
