Basketball Game Preview: Arroyo Valley Hawks vs. Serrano Diamondbacks

The Arroyo Valley Hawks just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Serrano Diamondbacks at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Arroyo Valley turned things around against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy on Tuesday. They snuck past Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy with a 58-53 win.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Serrano). They took their game on Monday with ease, bagging a 77-33 victory over Hesperia Christian. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The victory got Serrano back to even at 3-3. As for Arroyo Valley, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-8.

Arroyo Valley came up short against Serrano in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 50-46. Can Arroyo Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
