Basketball Recap: Denver North Victorious

Denver North hasn't had much luck on the road recently (they'd lost four straight) but thanks in part to Sammy Barajas that streak is no more. The Denver North Vikings enjoyed a cozy 68-50 victory over the D'Evelyn Jaguars on Thursday thanks in part to Barajas, who posted 11 points in addition to seven assists and six steals. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Sawyer Aubuchon, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

Denver North's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for D'Evelyn, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Denver North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-45 victory against Littleton on the 10th. As for D'Evelyn, they will square off against Colorado Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Colorado Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
