Baseball Recap: Polo Comes Up Short

Polo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the River Ridge/Scales Mound Wildcats.

Dawson Foster made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Gus Mumford, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Polo's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14.

Looking ahead, Polo will face off against South Beloit at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sobos will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Marcos surely won't give up without a fight. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, they will take on Oregon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
