Baseball Game Preview: Lick-Wilmerding Tigers vs. San Domenico Panthers

For the second straight game, Lick-Wilmerding will face off against San Domenico. The Tigers will face off against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lick-Wilmerding took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against San Domenico, sneaking past 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted against the Panthers since April 9, 2021.

Braden Pollock and Aidan Baird did most of the damage at the plate: Pollock went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Baird got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Lick-Wilmerding is undefeated when Baird posts two or more runs, but 5-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kian Perrone, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one triple and one RBI.

Lick-Wilmerding always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

With the win, Lick-Wilmerding broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-11. As for San Domenico, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
