Volleyball Recap: Orange Glen Comes Up Short

Orange Glen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Escondido Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Orange Glen sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 10-25, 28-26, 18-25, 15-13.

Quinton Tam had a dynamite game For Escondido., getting 30 digs and three assists. Tam has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times he's played.

Orange Glen's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Escondido, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-12 record.

Looking ahead, Orange Glen will be playing in front of their home fans against Maranatha Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. Escondido has already played their next match (against Mt. Carmel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
