Volleyball Recap: Fort Zumwalt South Comes Up Short

Fort Zumwalt South lost against Fort Zumwalt East back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bulldogs fell 3-1 to the Lions. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Fort Zumwalt South had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23.

Sydney Fenton paced Fort Zumwalt South's offense, picking up 18 kills. Fenton got some help from Mallory Williams and her 16 assists. Rylie Berlener and Jozie Spotanski kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Fort Zumwalt South's loss dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Fort Zumwalt East, their victory ended a six-match drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.

Fort Zumwalt South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Fort Zumwalt West on the 25th. As for Fort Zumwalt East, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Washington on the 25th.
