Baseball Recap: 16 Straight Home Wins for Berthoud

There's no place like home for Berthoud, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Severance Silver Knights 9-8 on Saturday. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 7-3 win the Silver Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.

Trent Jacobs was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Elisha Mosher was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Berthoud's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Severance, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Berthoud will have a chance to go back-to-back against Severance: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
