Football Game Preview: Spain Park Jaguars vs. Calera Eagles + How To Watch

Spain Park is a perfect 3-0 against Calera since August of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Jaguars will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Calera will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Spain Park extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Jaguars took their game with ease, bagging a 44-7 win over Chelsea. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Hornets are ranked 68th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Spain Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brock Bradley, who threw for 291 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes. The Jaguars are undefeated when Bradley posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Another receiver making a difference was Mason McClure, who picked up 133 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Calera, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They put the hurt on Chilton County with a sharp 41-16 win on Friday.

Spain Park better focus on containing Jordan Henderson and Jordan Ward as the pair were huge in Calera's win. Henderson rushed for 243 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries, while Ward threw for 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With that strong performance, Henderson is now averaging an impressive 112 rushing yards per game.

Calera was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 324 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Spain Park's record now sits at 5-2. As for Calera, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Spain Park against Calera when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
