Volleyball Recap: Gibbs Comes Up Short

Gibbs was the 3-0 winner over Clinton when they last played one another back in September of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Dragons on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since August 19th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-16.

Despite the loss, Gibbs still got an impressive performance from Madilynn Rutherford, who had 14 digs and one assist.

Clinton was led to victory by Alaina Staudenmaier and Jailie Rodd. Staudenmaier had five digs and three aces, while Rodd had ten digs. That's the most digs Rodd has posted over her last eight matches.

Gibbs' loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Clinton, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Gibbs has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Oak Ridge on the 4th. As for Clinton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Halls on the 4th.
