Baseball Game Preview: Lynbrook Vikings vs. Monta Vista Matadors

The Lynbrook Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Monta Vista Matadors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Lynbrook made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Salinas, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Lynbrook fell just short of North Salinas by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. Lynbrook has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Monta Vista didn't have quite enough to beat Cupertino on Thursday and fell 4-3. The Matadors have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Monta Vista saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sravik Sajja, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Sajja is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another was Tim Yin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Lynbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Monta Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.

Lynbrook might still be hurting after the 11-2 defeat they got from Monta Vista in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
