Basketball Recap: East Union Comes Up Short

East Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost to the Martensdale-St. Mary's Blue Devils at home by a 64-45 margin. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 120th).

East Union's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Martensdale-St. Mary's, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the East Union Eagles take on the Wayne Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Martensdale-St. Mary's has already played their next matchup (against Woodward Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
