Softball Recap: Fort Chiswell Beats Galax for Their Third Straight Win

Fort Chiswell entered their tilt with Galax on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Maroon Tide. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-3 back in April.

Blair Jackson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lilly Goforth, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Jenna Ball was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Fort Chiswell's record now sits at 11-5. As for Galax, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
