Softball Recap: Coral Glades Beats Pompano Beach for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Coral Glades was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes. Winning may never get old, but the Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Haleigh Thomas looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Cameron Marques was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Briana Escobar, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Coral Glades was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .343 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Coral Glades now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Pompano Beach, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coral Glades will face off against Spanish River at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pompano Beach, they will take on Cypress Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
