Baseball Recap: Orem Has No Trouble Against Salem Hills

Orem had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over the Salem Hills Skyhawks on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Orem got a massive performance out of Easton Petitta, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave Petitta a new career-high. Jaxtin Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Orem has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Salem Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-17.

Coming up, Orem will take on Brighton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bengals will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. Salem Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
