Baseball Game Preview: Gilmour Academy Lancers vs. Aurora Greenmen

The Gilmour Academy Lancers will take on the Aurora Greenmen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilmour Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Aurora's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Gilmour Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Medina and fell 5-4.

Meanwhile, Aurora can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They never let Madison get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The Greenmen not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17th (when they won 14-4).

The result came thanks to Alex Kaczmarek's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aurora's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jack Lang, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Aurora's win bumped their record up to 7-19. As for Gilmour Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 17-7.

Gilmour Academy might still be hurting after the 10-3 defeat they got from Aurora in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
