Basketball Game Preview: Mountain Pointe Pride vs. Campo Verde Coyotes

The Mountain Pointe Pride will challenge the Campo Verde Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mountain Pointe has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 5.

Mountain Pointe lost 49-24 to Horizon on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Campo Verde was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 54-53 to Notre Dame Prep. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Coyotes came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Saints are ranked 95th).

Mountain Pointe's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Campo Verde, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-3.

Mountain Pointe was dealt a bruising 58-30 loss at the hands of Campo Verde in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Campo Verde's Kelsey Watts, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards.
