Baseball Recap: Cumberland Takes a Loss

Cumberland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 7-3 to the Amelia County Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 back in March.

Iziah Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Player #12 also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Cumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Amelia County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cumberland will host Prince Edward County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Amelia County, they will welcome Mecklenburg County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
