Basketball Recap: Taylorville Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Taylorville Tornadoes were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-47 to the Robinson Maroons. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tornadoes came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Maroons are ranked 589th).

Taylorville has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 14-15 record this season. As for Robinson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-22.

Coming up, Taylorville will square off against Shelbyville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Robinson, they will venture away from home to square off against Marshall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
