Baseball Recap: Alexander Central Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Alexander Central owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Freedom Patriots as they made off with a 6-0 victory. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Not much got past Carter Bowman, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Freedom off the board. Bowman also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Alexander Central is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Alexander Central's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Koa Mikeal, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Alexander Central pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Freedom, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Alexander Central will face off against Wilkes Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.71 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Freedom, they will square off against Hibriten at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
