Recap: Skyline Coyotes vs. Red Mountain Mountain Lions

The Skyline Coyotes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 55-24 loss at the hands of Red Mountain. Skyline has not had much luck with the Mountain Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Skyline had strong showings from Joseph Fulkerson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, and Jeremiah Cole, who scored nine points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fulkerson has scored all season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Skyline struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Red Mountain racked up 14 assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Red Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryce Bigler, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals. Gage Lindsey was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Skyline has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Red Mountain, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-10.

Skyline will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westwood is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Red Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge the Jackrabbits at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mesa is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season.
