Football Recap: Hopkins Comes Up Short

If Hopkins was riding high fresh off their 45-0 takedown of Holland last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings received a blow on Friday as they fell 21-7 to the Reed City Coyotes. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Coyotes are ranked 96th).

Hopkins dropped their record down to 4-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Reed City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hopkins will take on Fruitport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Reed City, they will challenge Standish-Sterling at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
