Softball Recap: New Hope Takes a Loss

New Hope's last matchup with Madison Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. New Hope came up short against Madison Academy, falling 11-4. The Indians have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

New Hope saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Baswell, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

New Hope's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14-1. As for Madison Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2.

Coming up, New Hope will welcome Madison County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison Academy, they will take on Mars Hill Bible in a tournament on Saturday. Mars Hill Bible's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Madison Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
