The Mount Olive Marauders will face off against the Garfield Boilermakers on Tuesday. Mount Olive is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
On Monday, Mount Olive was able to grind out a solid victory over Morristown, taking the game 2-0.
Mount Olive easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-12.
Genessa Baltazar was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten digs.
Meanwhile, Garfield didn't have quite enough to beat St. Mary on Wednesday and fell 2-1. While the Boilermakers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gaels 25-18 in the first set.
Garfield started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-17, 25-17.
Mount Olive will have to keep a close watch on Alyssa Roundtree and Samantha Lee, a pair of players who had a big impact on Garfield's prior game. Roundtree had 13 digs and two aces, while Lee had five aces and one assist. That assist was Lee's first of the season.
Garfield has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Mount Olive, their win bumped their record up to 18-5.
