Baseball Preview: Vero Beach Indians vs. Centennial Eagles
For the first time this season, Vero Beach will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to face off against the Centennial Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Vero Beach was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Astronaut on Wednesday. The Indians blew past the War Eagles 11-1. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the War Eagles: they've now won three in a row.
Colt Miller made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Miller was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Brandon Walker looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025.

Sebastian River hit Centennial with a six-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Neither the Eagles nor the Sharks could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for an 8-8 tie.
The victory got Vero Beach back to even at 1-1. Centennial's draw gives them a new season record of 1-1-1.
