The Santa Clara Saints suffered their closest loss yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of Cate by a score of 51-48. Santa Clara was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cate apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Friday.
When it comes to explaining why Santa Clara lost, one person who can't be blamed is JD Pettit. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 27 points and 17 rebounds. Adrian Jimenez was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals.
Santa Clara has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Cate, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Clara will take on Dunn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
