Softball Game Preview: Rim of the World Fighting Scots vs. Notre Dame Titans

Rim of the World is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Notre Dame a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Rim of the World Fighting Scots will look to defend their home field against the Notre Dame Titans at 3:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Rim of the World fell victim to Arroyo Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Hawks. That's two games in a row now that the Fighting Scots have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame suffered their closest defeat since April 25, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Arroyo Valley by a score of 9-7.

Mikey Rodriguez was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off eight hits. Rodriguez was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Teresa Avila was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Shea McCann was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Rim of the World's loss dropped their record down to 0-10-1. As for Notre Dame, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10-1.
