Volleyball Recap: Oak Grove Takes a Loss

Oak Grove lost against Southwestern Randolph back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Grizzlies came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Grizzlies were not able to get on the board.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-11, 25-21.

Kate Bertschi paced Oak Grove's offense, picking up nine kills. Bertschi got some help from Hollis Fitzgerald and her 16 assists. Finally, Kalin Favreau kept Oak Grove's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Oak Grove's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2. As for Southwestern Randolph, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Oak Grove will face off against Northwest Guilford at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southwestern Randolph, they will host Pinecrest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
