Reedsville and Manitowoc Lutheran are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Panthers will take on the Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Reedsville came out on top against Mishicot on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Panthers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Indians an 8-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won three in a row.

Kodie Bubolz and Lucas Lodel were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Bubolz struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Lodel didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Reedsville is undefeated when Bubolz allows one or fewer hits, but 5-6 otherwise. At the plate, Bubolz got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Lodel went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sawyer Ubersox, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Schwahn, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Manitowoc Lutheran made sure to put some runs up on the board against Oostburg on Wednesday. The Lancers were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Flying Dutchmen.
Like Reedsville, Manitowoc Lutheran also got a great game from a two-way player: Derek Laabs. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Laabs was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Will Franzen and Logan Brooks did most of the damage at the plate: Franzen went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Brooks went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs Franzen has posted since back in April of 2024. Logan Haupt was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.
Reedsville pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Manitowoc Lutheran, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Reedsville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Manitowoc Lutheran struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Reedsville's way against Manitowoc Lutheran in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Reedsville made off with an 11-3 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
