Baseball Game Preview: Fallbrook Warriors vs. Vista Panthers

For the second straight game, Fallbrook will face off against Vista. The Warriors will host the Panthers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Fallbrook is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Vista just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 8-4 to the Panthers.

For Vista's part, Seth Coleman looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Coleman a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Giancarlo Corcuera, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Xavier LaPena was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Vista is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fallbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.
