Softball Recap: West Jessamine Colts vs. Estill County Engineers
The West Jessamine Colts didn't have quite enough to beat the Estill County Engineers on Saturday and fell 7-6. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Emerson Collins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Addi Vahle was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Collins wasn't the only one working in the home run department: West Jessamine lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Estill County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Coming up, West Jessamine will venture away from home to challenge Boyle County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Boyle County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.6 runs per game on average), something West Jessamine will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Estill County, they will be playing at home against Owsley County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
