While Mt. Carmel put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Classical Academy. Mt. Carmel narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Classical Academy 2-0. For the Sundevils, this counts as revenge for the 7-6 victory the Caimans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Classical Academy's batters probably weren't too happy with Isaac Reese, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up two walks). The dominant performance also gave Reese a new career-low in hits (zero).

On the hitting side, Mt. Carmel saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Mendoza, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits Mendoza has posted since back in April of 2024. Carson Weber also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Mt. Carmel now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Classical Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Mt. Carmel will be playing at home against Valhalla at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Carmel is facing Valhalla at the right time seeing as Valhalla is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Classical Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Grossmont at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Classical Academy will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Grossmont will have lost four straight heading into Saturday's matchup.
