It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Olathe West can now relate to. They fell just short of the Shawnee Mission West Vikings by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The Owls' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Max Hamilton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Olathe West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roy Roseman, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Olathe West's loss dropped their record down to 25-3. As for Shawnee Mission West, their victory bumped their record up to 15-11-1.
