Basketball Recap: Banks Hearn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pinewood Christian over Augusta Prep Day

Pinewood Christian lost against Augusta Prep Day back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pinewood Christian Patriots received a blow as they fell 56-40 to the Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly 16 points.

Pinewood Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Banks Hearn, who posted 22 points. That was a full 55% of Pinewood Christian's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Kinlaw, who put up 12 points.

Pinewood Christian dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Augusta Prep Day, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Pinewood Christian will face off against Westminster Schools of Augusta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Gavin Fox and Hearn. As for Augusta Prep Day, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-44 victory against Piedmont Academy on the 4th.
