Basketball Recap: Laurel Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Laurel unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a hard 50-33 fall against the Custer County Cowboys on Friday. The Locomotives have struggled against the Cowboys recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The victory got Custer County back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurel will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Dawson County at 5:30 p.m. on January 11, 2025. As for Custer County, they and Park will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
