Softball Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

Lexington was the 9-0 winner over Covington when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lexington Tigers fell 6-2 to the Covington Chargers on Saturday.

Lexington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Rhodes, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Covington, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers face off against the Cardinals at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Covington, they are taking a road trip to challenge St. Benedict at Auburndale at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.
