Recap: Shenandoah Raiders vs. Heritage Christian Eagles
The Shenandoah Raiders''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by Heritage Christian 35-0. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shenandoah in their matchups with Heritage Christian: they've now lost eight in a row.
Heritage Christian was led to victory by Eli Nix and Elijah Pimental. Nix threw for 142 yards and four touchdowns, while Pimental rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Pimental is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. Vaughn Johnson also helped out as he racked up 108 rushing yards.
Shenandoah's loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 11-0 Park Tudor and 7-3 Northeastern (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.3% over those games). As for Heritage Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Shenandoah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Heritage Christian will head out on the road to face off against Winchester Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Winchester Community is ranked 156th, while Heritage Christian is ranked 136th).
