Basketball Game Preview: Norco Cougars vs. Santiago Sharks

The Norco Cougars will take on the Santiago Sharks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Norco has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Norco is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Roosevelt on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Norco was outmatched by Roosevelt and fell 96-55. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-16.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ryan Ibbetson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Edgar Mojica, who posted 13 points.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Santiago's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to Centennial 76-70.

Santiago's defeat dropped their record down to 21-9. As for Norco, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.

Norco came up short against Santiago in their previous matchup last Thursday, falling 45-40. Can Norco avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
