Baseball Recap: Morgan City Has No Trouble Against Comeaux

Morgan City made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Comeaux, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers blew past the Spartans 13-3 on Saturday. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered an 11-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Noah Guarisco made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Guarisco was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryce Solar, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Lasseigne, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Morgan City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Comeaux only posted an OBP of .320.

Morgan City's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-24. As for Comeaux, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-18.

Morgan City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Comeaux, they will head out to square off against St. Edmund at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
