Soccer Recap: Lanier Comes Up Short

Lanier saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell just short of the Martin Tigers by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Voks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Tigers are ranked 142nd).

Lanier's goal came courtesy of Jose Rodr?guez, which was the first he's scored this season.

Lanier's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Martin, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Jefferson the next time they take the pitch. Martin will head out to face Jefferson at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, while Lanier will host them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
