Basketball Recap: Central Valley's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

Central Valley lost to Lewis & Clark back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Central Valley Bears came out on top against the Lewis & Clark Tigers by a score of 58-46. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Tigers are ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Central Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Lewis & Clark, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Valley will head out to face off against Cheney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Valley is facing Cheney at the right time seeing as Cheney is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Lewis & Clark, they will venture away from home to challenge Gonzaga Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gonzaga Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Lewis & Clark likes a good challenge.
