Preview: King's Academy Lions vs. Dillon Christian Warriors
King's Academy is 2-8 against Dillon Christian since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the King's Academy Lions will get right back to it and host the Dillon Christian Warriors at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th. King's Academy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
While it was all tied up 15-15 at halftime, King's Academy was not quite Conway Christian's equal in the second half on Thursday. King's Academy fell to Conway Christian 38-33.
Meanwhile, Dillon Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Lake View by a score of 75-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Dillon Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Outlar led the charge by dropping a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Outlar has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Thompson Stone, who scored 22 points along with seven assists.
King's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Dillon Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.
King's Academy suffered a grim 71-46 defeat to Dillon Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can King's Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
