Basketball Recap: Caprock Academy Comes Up Short

Caprock Academy lost against Nucla back in February of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Caprock Academy Eagles fell 57-47 to the Nucla Mustangs. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Brycen Rummel, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 assists for Nucla. Rummel has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 22 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Garvey, who went 5 of 7 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Caprock Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Nucla, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Caprock Academy and Telluride will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Nucla, they and Soroco will face off at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Nucla is facing Soroco at the right time seeing as Soroco is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
